Glad I read this and there is a lot to think about in it. There is so much work to do to dismantle White Privilege for sure. At the same time recognizing the role Stacey played as well as the African American community as a whole played is vital and important. Recognizing these efforts - simply the act of recognizing - isn't enough however to change racism, and without all the more work needed, this small gesture is just that a gesture, not real change.
